The ECSQARU conferences, held every two years since 1991, are a major forum for advances in the theory and practice of reasoning and decision making under uncertainty  in intelligent systems. The scope of ECSQARU includes, but is not limited to,  fundamental issues, representation, inference, learning, and decision making in qualitative and numeric paradigms. Submissions are now invited for  ECSQARU-2003, the seventh conference.

Topics of Interest (non-exclusive):
Foundations of uncertainty concepts
Reasoning under uncertainty
Decision making under uncertainty

Bayesian networks
Causal networks

Paper Preparation and Submission:
The conference proceedings will be published by Springer Verlag as a volume in the LNCS/LNAI series. Hence authors are requested to prepare their papers in the LNCS/LNAI format. Each paper must not exceed 12 pages in length. Papers that are not in the stated format or that exceed the page limit will not be reviewed.

Paper submission and review will be managed using CyberChair, a web-based paper submission and reviewing system.  Authors are requested to submit their papers electronically through a web page, which can be accessed by a click on the "Paper submission" link.  The system accepts only postscript or PDF files. PDF files are preferred.

If you have difficulties adhering the format or the submission requirements, please contact the program co-chairs (ecsqaru@cs.auc.dk) so that special arrangements can be made.

Each submitted paper will be evaluated by three reviewers on the basis of originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition.  All accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings. Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the conference and make oral presentations about their work.

International Journal of Approximate Reasoning (IJAR) has agreed to publish high quality papers of ECSQARU-2003 in a special issue. Selected authors will be invited in due course to submit expanded versions of their papers for possible publication in the special issue.
